Spatiotemporal multiphysics metamaterials with continuously adjustable functions

Emerging multiphysics metamaterials offer an exciting opportunity to regulate complex physical processes. However, their functionality and tunability are limited by two severe constraints. Firstly, is fixed once structures materials prepared, meaning that only one available for each field. Secondly, continuous challenging achieve in fields because parameters hard change on demand. To overcome these limitations, we propose the concept of spatiotemporal metamaterials, which takes into account temporal dimension. The feature enables multiple functions field switching. We develop rotatable checkerboard with different rotation times, material composition, geometric shapes allow flexible thermal electric function switching between cloaking, sensing, concentrating. Real-time have been theoretically predicted confirmed simulations. These results a promising platform realizing adaptive intelligent manipulation.
